The Midland College Chaps, playing in their final home game of the 2024 season, successfuly held the visiting Western Texas College Westerners at bay in a much-needed win on Sophomore Night at the Chaparral Center.

The Chaparrals improved to 19-9 this season and 8-6 in conference to keep their postseason aspirations alive.  MC defeated the Westerners 61-54, avenging an earlier season overtime loss to WTC in Snyder.

MC's sophomore post man, Luke Davis, guided the Chaps to the win posting a statline of 19 points (6-8 from the floor, 7-8 at the freethrow line) and 21 rebounds.  Jaden Kempson, Jarren Cook and Emilis Butkus chipped in with 12, 10 and 10 points respectively.

Just prior to the start of the men's basketball game, Midland College honored the nine departing members of the Midland College men's basketball team.  It was the final home game of the season for the Chaps.  It was also the final home game in the Midland College careers for the nine team members.  Bryce Moore, Rich Martelly, Jarren Cook, Leon Williams, Curtis Harrison, Will Young, Bryceson Burns (not pictured), Emilis Butkus and the aforementioned Davis round out the sophomore class.

Midland College will travel to Clarendon College on Monday, March 4th for an important conference game that holds postseason possibilities for the Chaparrals.
